Well, everything happened to Brent in a week. He became a dad for the first time, and turned 30 for the only time! (unless he manages to get his flux capacitor working again).

It was a cheerful but cold night at the Rose Hotel in Fitzroy. It has been a long time since I have been able to purchase a delicious scotch fillet steak with chips and mushroom sauce for $12, but the hotel delivered! The beer was pretty cheap too, although my last pint of Becks tasted like it had water in it - probably the end of the keg.

Spending time with the Perrymans and Whelans proved to be a fun night, especially as both menfolk seem to like a cigar... Mine was a dud, I think, as no matter how hard I sucked back on it, it kept going out. I actually got a bit dizzy from all the nicotine because I was sucking back so hard. Usually, I just try and puff a bit to get through it.
